A Little Bit of History

County Sports was established in 1965 by Neville & Mavis Pryce-Jones and their then 2 year old daughter, Heidi. When the shop first opened, it was less than half the size you see it today, just a small tackle and gun shop... but not only was this their trading place, they also lived just upstairs, and although now it is purely stock rooms Heidi's "Noddy" wallpaper can still be seen lacing the walls.

23 years later, and with the addition of a future son-in-law to the business, they extended to create the Sport and Lifestyle department.

Gary Lewis quickly settled within the family business before marrying Heidi, and then having a son, Aaron in 1995.

Here Aaron is seen at 5 months old already with a gun in his hand. As Neville says "Start them young!".

After years as a History teacher in Narbeth Grammer School, Neville Pryce-Jones became the Olympic Shooting Coach for the British Team, so you can understand how he initially set up the business for just Shooting & Fishing.

Over 20 years on from this and County Sports is still thriving, boasting 3 generations of family staff all working side by side.

But all of the staff are considered as part of the County Sports Family! An enthusiastic team of expert sales people who are dedicated to provide the best service possible!
